More than 2000 participants took part in the 13th instalment of the Wright Hassell Leamington 10k Regency Run, last Sunday 2nd April.
Organised by Leamington Round Table, the event is recognised as one of the top 10km runs in the country.
The race was won by Paddy Roddy from Kenilworth Runners, who flew home with an impressive time of 32 minutes and 31 seconds, with Kelsey Wiberley the fastest female home in 39 minutes 38 seconds.
Around 250 children were also able to take part in the day – by taking on the 1k kids run, organised by charity Kids Run Free.
Hannah Carey, attendee at the event said: “This event keeps getting better year-on- year and we couldn’t be prouder to have supported it over the past 13 years.”
“There is a lot of hard work behind the scenes so everyone at Wright Hassall would like to pass on their congratulations to the Leamington Round Table and all the volunteers for putting on such a brilliant event.”
Since the event began in back 2004 the Table have raised over £250,000 directly from the run, with all the money going back into the local community through a variety of great causes and charities.
Mark Chambers, of the Leamington Table, was delighted with the success of the day: “We’re really happy with how this year’s event went. So much hard work goes on in the lead-up to the event, so I’d like to thank everyone who has helped us do this for 13 years and of course to the great group of volunteers we had here on the day.”
“It was great to see the community out in full force again for the run. Every year attendances just grow and thank you to everyone who donated and helped raise funds for the local charities and worthy causes that this supports.”
